Entrepreneur. Designer. Artist. Educator. Focused on textiles, community work, passionate about craftmanship, cultural identity, and collaboration. Nine years of experience in product design and development in USA and Latin America. Responsible for developing, teaching, and coordinating YAP (Young Artists Program) of the Taller Puertorriqueno in North Philadelphia. YAP is a visual arts and entrepreneurship training program with a strong Puerto Rican Latin American component. She has worked supporting young people to develop their portfolios for art school. Founded sustainable fashion project Las Divas del Monte in 2019 to rescue fashion industry material waste and to educate on reuse and recycling methods. This project turns textile waste into clothes and accessories and offers basic fashion design and sewing workshops. The Ashleen Castillo brand began in 2015 as a swimsuit line and evolved into a resort/lifestyle clothing and accessory brand manufactured in Puerto Rico. Her experience includes prototype design, illustration, textile design, project management, creative direction, fashion editorials, exhibition design, fashion design, and sewing training. Her work was showcased in Puerto Rico, Philadelphia and New York and has appeared on CBS News Philadelphia, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and El Calce Puerto Rico among others.

PEZENT (which is derived from the pronunciation of Peasant) represents the simple, unpretentious and grateful life.
